Named after the experimental movie he directed in 1926, this lamp exemplifies Man Ray's Dada roots by combining commonly found objects such as a spool and a film reel to create a new purpose. The new object was a mainstay in his Los Angeles studio and was given to a friend and frequent patron Mary Stothart when he left for Paris in 1951.
